But let’s face it – the chances of creating a highly professional project management team handling complex multilingual projects somewhere in the cold of the West Siberian Plain, a home to tundra and taiga, must seem pretty grim to the outside world. Blame it on geographical remoteness from the rest of the world, no localization education and almost no previous localization industry history in the region, on not being exactly a Silicon Valley type of place, or on Russian specific attitude to management – even this incomplete list would make anyone give up on the idea at once. And yet, against all the odds, we’ve made it! Years ago it took a handful of dedicated Palex specialists putting in a lot of effort to learn the right way to manage localization projects and cherishing their passion for improvement. Later on, we’ve established strict recruiting policy, solid educational paths for sharing experience and created in-house training resources. Nowadays, we are enjoying the access to the pool of valuable professionals in the region.
