Valuable projects
We would like to highlight a few of the localization projects we have completed:
Printer localization projects: complete localization, including drivers, software, printer firmware, manuals, buttons, packaging, leaflets, etc., into about 40 languages. We’ve been involved in such projects since 2004. These projects embrace project management, translation, linguistic and formal QA, localization engineering and testing, bug fixing, and DTP. For these projects, we elaborated a specific workflow, developed proprietary scripts and software for automatic terminology checking, various DTP plug-ins and snippets, etc.
Software localization projects: software and help files, on-line support localization into 2-4 languages. We’ve been involved in such projects since 2007. These projects have huge volumes and very short turnaround times. We recently worked on a project that involved up to 1.5 million words of software and up to 3.5 million words of online help (into a total of three languages). We did it all in a 10-12 month timeframe.
Mobile software and manuals localization projects: manuals and different kinds of software for mobile phones, including OS, games and other mobile applications. We’ve been involved in such projects since 2006. What makes these projects different is the need to localize materials into languages that are much less common in localization: Armenian, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Georgian, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Mongolian, Tajik, Turkmen, Ukrainian and Uzbek.
Multimedia localization projects: localization of online training courses involves source files in a variety of complex formats, which requires thorough analysis and file preparation, voice-overs, video and flash localization, followed by integration of localized courses into the client's system. We’ve been involved in such projects since 2007.
All these projects require a high-wire performance by our project management team. With their unique combination of management, linguistics and IT skills, our project managers go way beyond passing files and comments back and forth. They hold entire responsibility and take full control of the project, researching and analyzing the requirements, creating efficient workflows, setting competent tasks for the production teams, be it translation, DTP, QA or engineering, and closely monitoring the project status and the work of all resources involved.
